The eMedyx System is designed to focus on the needs of the emergency medical provider and their interaction with the patient during a time of need. DPS principals, attorneys and technology consultants have been working on the eMedyx system for over eight years, to fill the void by providing timely and accurate personal medical information concerning the patient's medical history before they receive medical treatment.
During this process, DPS has secured several provisional patents for the technology, business processes, methodology and underlying structure of the eMedyx System as well as Internationally protected copyrights and trademarks. With these components and a workable demo of each of the core technologies now in-hand, DPS is moving into the Beta phase of development where all of the technology, business rules, processes, security and logic will be integrated and tested. At the conclusion of the Beta Testing we will move to the Phase I - Local Roll-out phase of the eMedyx System.
The roll-out plan will consist of four phases to ensure maximum security, data integrity and system reliability while integrating best practices and enhancing the eMedyx System to the needs of the client/partner base. Depending upon partner/investor participation, these phases may be truncated or merged to meet the needs of a particular partner organization however, there shall never be a truncation or bypass of ANY of the security measures in this phased approach.
eMedyx will be deployed in the following phases utilizing the following technologies and processes:
Phase I - Local Roll-out (Tentatively Planned for Early 2012)
Phase I of the roll-out will involve the construction of a co-located hosted eMedyx core system accessible via SSL security through the eMedyx Web Application. This phase will involve:
- One targeted local hospital partner
- Several regional clinics (some of which have been defined),
- Between 10-20 EMS vehicles
- 40-50 EMT's and First Responders
- Approximately 100,000 - 150,000 eMedyx Cardholders actively on the system.
Phase II - Regional Roll-out
Phase II takes all of the components of Phase I and expands the eMedyx System with the following capabilities:
- Several regional hospitals or a system of hospitals over one or two States
- Several regional Clinics spanned across several States
- Hundreds of Physicians within a State or group of States (Each identified in the System using their NPI Code)
- Hundreds of EMS vehicles and trained first responders
- A single dedicated server cluster located in a class III or better data-center located within the region
- A single Network Operations Center designed to monitor security and ensure transactional & network integrity
- A Call Center with a toll-free phone number to cater to the needs of the Cardholder, Physician and EMT/First Responder.
- A Manufacturing Center (within the region) to manufacture, deploy and support the Portable eMedyx Reader and Kiosks
- Development of limited HL-7 interchange functionality for regional partner hospitals and clinics on an identified EMR system with limited integration of ID9, ID0 and Pharma codes.
- Introduction of the eMedyx Kiosk System at local/regional/State partner locations with minimal functionality
- >1,000,000 targeted cardholders on the system
This phase will involve the expansion of the system to include several MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Areas) over a region which may encompass up to two states. The inclusion of a local data center and manufacturing facility will bring local jobs and technology to the area which will benefit the region for years to come. Phase II also integrates a higher level of security involving NIST security protocols and using a clustered server environment which is scalable, redundant and has fail-over capability.
Phase III - National Roll-Out
Phase III builds upon the previous two phases and enhances the security and infrastructure in the system through a National roll-out where multiple states and regions are integrated within a single cohesive system. The enhancements of Phase III include:
- FULL eMedyx System Functionality including all of the User Based web-forms, DNR, and other as-yet unknown forms.
- Integration with national school based Student Athletic Physical & State/Federal Child Immunization systems.
- Regional or national hospital systems and national local hospitals over the 50 United States and Territories
- National clinics spanned across all States
- All NIH registered US Physicians (Each identified in the System using their NPI Code)
- Nationwide networks of EMS vehicles and trained first responderes
- FIVE dedicated server clusters each located in a geographically diverse class-IV data-center (already-determined)
- TWO geographically diverse Network Operations Centers designed to monitor security and ensure transactional & network integrity with fail-over and backup capability
- TWO Multi-lingual Call Centers to cater to the needs of the needs of the Cardholder, Physician and EMT/First Responder and to provide fax-on-demand of critical documents to any hospital, clinic or physician in the nation.
- Full integration of an expanding HL-7 interchange to exchange data with existing patient record infrastructure using ID9, ID0 and Pharma codes.
- Expanded Manufacturing Center (within the region) to manufacture, deploy and support the Portable eMedyx Reader and Kiosks
- National roll-out of the eMedyx Kiosk System with National partner(s) in thousands of locations with full eMedyx System functionality
- Integration with our National Kiosk Partner with a medical drug interaction platform to notify patients by SMS/Text/Email of the potential of drug interactions in their profile.
- >10,000,000-50,000,000 or more targeted cardholders on the system
This is the final roll-out phase of the eMedyx System and would involve on-going maintenance, upgrades, updates and improvements to the system, security and technology. The expansion of the school based systems and Special Projects (as outlined below) would continue beyond this phase and would be an adjunct to the full eMedyx System core functionality.
Phase IV - Special Projects
Phase IV "Special Projects" is currently scheduled to be incorporated within the Phase II and Phase III roll-outs or beyond based upon the needs of the State or Federal Agency partners whom have need of the eMedyx System.
These projects would include:
- National Medicare Fraud Abatement and the issuance of a National eMedyx Card for Medicare patients to facilitate secure transactions within the Medicare system incorporating our multi-factor authentication systems.
- State Medicaid Fraud Abatement with similar goals and objectives.
- Other National Programs including the US Prison System and/or Probation System to ensure secure multi-factor authentication.
- University ID Programs integrated with eMedyx ID System, Cafeteria, Bookstore and Campus Medical programs.
- Other Classified Single Use Systems (many of which are currently under internal and external discussion) for FEMA, Federal and/or State Benefits Distribution & Verification, Military Dependents and Other expanded uses of the eMedyx Platform.
